KOBE Vented Back Protectors

Fully armored, great protection, and one of only a few in the world that is Euro CE safety approved! This back protector has it all - a 12mm thick pad of energy absorbing E-Foam on the underside, with a flow through mesh liner, plus a durable compressed dense foam backing for even more energy absorbtion, and overlapping articulated hard armor on top. There are lots of vents under and around the armor plates that allow for improved cool air circulation through the back protector for much better comfort, and the velcro waist belt is extra wide so it does not pinch or cut at your waist. You will also find the adjustable shoulder straps hold the back protector snugly in place for maximum protection.

The Kobe BackPro was designed for top safety and comfort. Lots of venting makes this back protector the best for hot summer days at the track or long rides in the mountains. Available in 6 and 7 plate models for a great fit, Adjustable shoulder straps made with stretchable material keep it positioned exactly where you want it.

More info on back protectors:

Most back protectors are just a foam pad, or a foam pad with some plastic on top. None of these type back protectors meet the energy absorbsion level necessary for CE aproval. CE approval is given by an independent safety testing organization in Europe, similar to how the Snell Foundation tests and approves helmets in the US.

The E-Foam found in the Kobe BackPro is very expensive and is rarely used by any other manufacturers, even in thin or small pieces. Kobe uses a whopping 12mm thick piece of E-Foam the full size of the back protector to help insure your safety. And the Kobe BackPro still sells for less than most competing brands!

The armor plates on a back protector need to be thick enough to actually provide some impact resistance and abrasion resistance. Kobe uses armor plates that are of proper thickness, and they are made from a nylon base stock, not cheap plastic, for better durabilty and abrasion resistance. You will also notice that the armor platres on the Kobe BackPro are specifically molded to overlap and articulate as you move, so the protector remains flexible without any gaps between the armor plates like you will find on many other back protectors.
