Armor Facts:
Most back protectors are just a piece of dense foam, or a cheap foam
pad with a plastic cup on it. None of these type armors meet the
energy absorbsion level necessary for CE aproval. CE approval is
given by an independent safety testing organization in Europe, similar
to how the Snell Foundation tests and approves helmets in the US.
The E-Foam found in the Kobe Duotec Armor is very expensive and is
rarely used by other manufacturers, even in thin or small pieces.
Kobe Duotec armor starts with a 6mm thick base of E-foam, and adds
the armor on top to help insure your safety.
Duotec Armor comes standard in Kobe racing leathers, and is available
separately to use in other brands of leathers and most jackets. |
